I didn't accuse mentor of being xenophobic, the word was mentioned fairly casually (by me anyway) and mentor went into one about its meaning.

I did try to engage mentor on a sensible level about the actual thread matter after that, but he didn't want to know.

cholo,
xenophobic is not what mentor is or the majority are.I wish it was that simple.

When was that?

When he said I didn't know the meaning of a word, then I showed him the Oxford dictionary definition proving I was correct?

Haha, ok.

I like France and the French. The British ex pats over there are a pain in the proverbial. A bigger bunch of know alls I've never yet met.

Re: Calais ferry stormed by ahem tourists?
I recently enjoyed a stay en Francais

when in a restaurant, I noted with interest that an adjoining table of very French diners were greeted with gusto, passion and a welcoming exchange and happy courtesy

when it came to me, to take the beginning of my tables order, I was treated to a very curt 'oui?' whilst not even being looked at. continually, whilst having his little pencil and order pad brandished too near my boat to be polite.

instead of saying 'do you want my fucking order mate or what, you rude cunt?' and walking off with my family and friends as I would have done en angleterre, I stayed and ordered food in bad broken French, because my missus would have got the ump otherwise.

when I left though, I must confess to having attempted to tell him in a way that im not proud of that his wines were good but his manners shit. and that he could stick his grumbling onion arsed fucking miserable ways up his gary or stuff his guts up his arsehole with a le stique le pain croissant

all of that came out as 'you can poke your tip/ you fucking cunt' whilst my wife muttered about how much I had drunk, again

Re: Calais ferry stormed by ahem tourists?
to clarify cos that last post is badly written, i dont understan the incentive for a french worker to gain work again so i dont understand why the foreigners keep coming to us but its cos we weak at borders and they speak language

Re: Calais ferry stormed by ahem tourists?
France is a bag of shit, as u say willtell, lunch breaks that are longer than the fucking day. postal system is like a fucking pass the parcel type thing and the taxes etc. for an auto entrepeneur ridiculous. then u get these people getting a CDI work contract and then if they get sacked the country pays them the same wages for a long time so whats the incentive for people to leave.

havin said all that, england is easier for these inbredds cos they have mastered our language

Re: Calais ferry stormed by ahem tourists?
Alfie I do agree with what you say there about many of the French, in particular the older generation seem to have a pomme frite on their shoulder, many think so highly of themselves, this seems to mask their obvious inferiority complex regards the British liberating their country and to which they do not want to be reminded of or internally grateful.

In short utter cunts of the highest order.

Re: Calais ferry stormed by ahem tourists?
Wittell, I make you right there. Would apply to Spain as well, almost certainly the likes of Portugal and Greece, Italy has just entered a triple dip recession so would probably join the list, I could go on....

Anyway back to France, tis a lovely place and I have found French from the West coast very decent. Years ago I think the older generation were anti English, but the younger ones like diversity, similar to the young English, as a generalisation of course.

Re: Calais ferry stormed by ahem tourists?
the French should be shouted at and daubed in a foul smelling paste of offal and dead animal jelly

the way they fucking shit themselves and legged it from the germans before suddenly recovering their bollocks when we invaded on d day only to latterly totally conveniently forget all this and treat us like cunts whilst licking spick and span American anus is nothing short of an outrage.

they should be reminded of their collaborative fucking shitting out capitulation and it should also be pointed out that their army uniform hats in this period - particularly de gaulles - were much too fucking big. they looked like a right pack of cunts and the rampaging invading germans must have gone 'lets aim at their massive fucking prattish hats'

I would never go to France for work. In fact France is not open for business. 2 hour lunches maximum 35 hour week, impossible to lay off workers and huge taxes. Completely fucked by their own arrogant stupidity.

Lovely place to live though as long as your income comes from England....

I got chatting to an ex pat on holiday. It turns out this bloke had upped sticks because of all the immigrants and because it was much cheaper to live in Brittany.

He didnt stop moaning and wants to return to London because but cant get work and afford to stay there, but he cant afford to come back.

Re: Calais ferry stormed by ahem tourists?
The funny thing is that France flouts EEC laws and rulings all the time but French media don't make a fuss so no-one gets to hear about it.

Classic example: they charge a surcharge on the EDF (Electricity de France btw) electricity bill which for me was over €200 last year. This is so that EDF can pay uneconomic but "green" energy producers more than the normal wholesale price.

This was decreed by the EU as state aid for the French electrical industry and therefore illegal and should be repaid to consumers for the last two years. I made a claim for two years then again queried it in the current year's bill. It was refused and announced in the French media that it was just an EU technicality and would not be repaid to consumers.

Same as infringement of human rights. If a French official say black is white and the EU says no it isn't - black becomes white.

They legislated against Muslims wearing the full burkha is it called? None of this human rights nonsense. But then again they are socialists so....
